This series of watercolours is inspired by poems and songs written by my brother Fernando in the 1990s. These artworks serve as a social and emotional chronicle set in A Coruña, with a particular focus on the Monte Alto neighbourhood. In total, I created 23 watercolours to accompany a poetry book that reflects the essence of life in this vibrant area.
The paintings evoke a range of experiences, from heartfelt phone calls of love to the haunting memories of terror in the classroom. They also depict iconic moments, such as the legendary "U" of skating at Adormideras and a protest with police presence at Riazor. Through these illustrations, I aim to convey the rich tapestry of experiences that shaped my brother and those who grew up listening to heavy metal in a working-class neighbourhood of A Coruña during the 90s.
